One of the main reasons people put forward to justify the difficulty of transitioning towards slow fashion is the lack of available AND EASY alternatives. This was so so true about 5 years ago when hours of research had to be put into researching ethical and eco-friendly clothing brands.
But thankfully, this time is over! Over the past few years, committed entrepreneurs have made it their mission to offer easy to find, affordable fashion with a conscience which makes an ethical wardrobe only a click away. Indeed, most of these initiatives can be found online at the moment but I have no doubt that they'll translate into physical shops in a few years to enable even the most doubtful consumer to shop green and ethical!
One of these eco-friendly eshops that I've had the chance to collaborate with recently is French based Mae Sue. They focus on European brands that produces their clothes in a fair and ethical way and you can find on the website some essentials of the green fashionista's wardrobe such as Know the Origi,, Dedicated and Thinking Mu!
I particularly loove the Lodi Dress made of Lenzig Modal, a super soft eco-friendly fabic a bit similar to tencel that comes from cellulose (aka trees managed in a sustainable way). I actually had it shorten a little bit as I'm very small but now it's the perfect basic for the summer from beach to party!
It's so eco it's actually biodegradable and feels so soft on the skin!!
Also, remember, when you're buying from a small business, an actual person makes a happy dance so don't hesitate to support projects that are good to the planet, local economy but also committed individuals trying to change the world!
